The Pike County Spelling Bee was held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Ross-Pike Educational Service Center. Students from Eastern, Piketon, and Western Schools competed for the coveted title of spelling champion.
After twelve rounds of competition, Jacey Tinney, a seventh grader from Piketon Jr. High emerged victorious, clinching the title of Pike County Spelling Bee Champion. Jace displayed remarkable composure as he correctly spelled the championship word, "completely," securing his place as the top speller in the county. Zain Brigner, a sixth grader from Eastern earned a second-place title, and Kendal Stephan, a sixth grader from Eastern earned third place. Congratulations to each of these students for a well-deserved victory!
The Ross County Spelling Bee was held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Ross-Pike Educational Service Center. Students from Adena, Huntington, Southeastern, Unioto, and Zane Trace competed for the coveted title of spelling champion.
After twenty-one rounds of competition, Lily Smith, a sixth grader from Zane Trace emerged victorious, clinching the title of Ross County Spelling Bee Champion. Lily displayed remarkable composure as she correctly spelled the championship word, "laundromat," securing her place as the top speller in the county. Alyson Ashcroft, a seventh grader from Adena earned a second-place title, and Mya Vickers, a seventh grader from Southeastern earned third place. Congratulations to each of these ladies for a well-deserved victory!
The Ross County Spelling Bee not only celebrates academic excellence but also fosters a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants. Each of the winners was presented with a trophy and medal, and the first-place winner was awarded a $50 gift card provided by Ross County Banking Center. Thank you to all participants, coaches, and school districts that made this event possible!

Ross-Pike ESD held their annual Math 24 competition for grades 7-9 yesterday at Piketon High School. Gabriel Oates (SE) was the 7th grade winner. Case Leist (E) was the grade 8 winner. Hayden Reinsmith (E) was the grade 9 winner. Cade Leist (E) was the overall grades 7-9 champion!
