Kristen Earich is the new Regional Early Literacy Specialist replacing Sommer McCorkle. Kristen brings 36 years of educational experience with 26 in the classroom and 10 years serving as the Curriculum, Federal Programs and Special Projects Coordinator all with Adena Local Schools. During her tenure as Curriculum Coordinator, Adena was awarded a Striving Readers Literacy Grant in partnership with Paint Valley and the Ross-Pike ESD totaling over $400,000 which provided LETRS training to all K-5 staff ensuring alignment of instruction and materials to the Science of Reading. Kristen will be receiving training in the State and Regional Literacy Network and will be available to fulfill professional development once each training has been completed. Kristen lives in Pickaway County on a small cow/calf farm with her husband, Mel. She enjoys spending time with family and her four granddaughters; the newest of which was born on July 8th with Down syndrome.
