The web page contains a playlist of links that provide a variety of resources that explore Math teaching ideas or strategies in your grade band. I would request that you select at least one of the print resources to read and review. Time may or may not permit you to explore all the reaming resources, so you will be free to choose the specific resources of interest to you. You may even decide to travel to the internet to explore one or more in depth. The final 30 to 45 minutes of today’s session will be devoted to collective sharing of some form.
For some of the You Tube video segments you may want or need to skip through the advertisement sections that often precede the video.
As you explore each of the resources consider how you might choose to demonstrate what you may have learned, or insights gained from each of the resources and the collective group of resources. Below are four possibilities you could choose from, or you are free to describe a fifth possibility of your creation to demonstrate your learning.
1. Provide a 3- 5 minute in person oral/visual presentation to the whole group in the final portion (last 30 -45 minutes) of the day’s session.
2. Write a reflective response that can be copied and shared with the whole group.
3. Provide a written plan or a video recording of how you will plan to regularly implement one or more of the ideas/strategies in the coming year.
4. For either of the options above (in person, written, or video) you could describe how you might try to deliver instruction and/or assessment in a similar format as the one used in today’s personalized learning.
5. Confer with Bob on an alternative.
