Ohio School Counselor Evaluation System Training
The passage of House Bill 64 in July 2015 directed the State Board of Education to develop and adopt a standards-based state framework for evaluation of school counselors. The bill further directed each school district board of education to adopt a school counselor evaluation policy by September 30, 2016, that conforms to the State Board framework.
Consultants from Ross-Pike ESC have participated in state sponsored training to be able to deliver the required certification for evaluators of school counselors. Ross-Pike ESC will hold a training on August 2, 2017 to deliver this certification.
Implementation of the School Counselor Evaluation System was required for the 2016-2017 school year. Districts with Collective Bargaining Agreements entered into prior to 9/29/2015 and still in effect may elect to Pilot the School Counselor evaluations.
