Ross-Pike Districts and Agencies "Experience Poverty"
On March 16, 2018, Ross and Pike County school districts and agencies participated in the Cost of Poverty Experience coordinated by the Ross-Pike ESC and Brown County ESC. The Cost of Poverty Experience is a simulation that places participants in situational poverty for four "weeks" comprised of 15 minutes each. Each participant belongs to a family and has to navigate their way through paying bills, attending work and school, accessing community services, etc. The purpose of the simulation is to allow participants a small glimpse into what it would be like to live in poverty.
