Speech and Language Therapist

The Ross-Pike Educational Service Center is currently seeking interested applicants for the position of Speech and Language Therapist to serve client school districts in Ross and Pike Counties. Interested applicants should have a valid School Speech and Language License issued from the Ohio Department of Education (or the ability to obtain); current satisfactory Ohio BCI and an FBI background checks and a valid driver’s license. Work schedule will be based on a typical school calendar (182) days. A comprehensive fringe benefit package will be offered as a part of employment. Interested applicants may be eligible for a variety of student loan forgiveness programs by working in a school setting. Salary offering will be negotiable commensurate with experience and qualifications. Posting period for this position will begin on 6-28-17 and end 7-14-17 close of business.

Region 15 State Support Team

State Support Team Consultant

Responsibilities: In collaboration with Region 15 SST, the Consultant implements the full scope of work associated with the 2017-18 State Support Team ODE Performance Agreement, adhering to ODE processes and tools, Ross Pike ESD policies and procedures and Region 15 practices.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the provision of professional development, technical assistance and coaching in the following areas: teacher based teams, building level teams, district level teams; evidence based strategies supporting the influence areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, community/environment; Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports; access and use of learning standards, curriculum and assessments utilizing principles of universal design and intensive intervention/support design for individual students; and instructional practices that focus on the academic, functional achievement and social-emotional needs of students to insure greater inclusivity. Services are provided for public school personnel in Region 15 with the goal of building the capacity of local and related education agencies and their educators to engage in systemic and sustainable improvement that impacts outcomes for all students, pre-k to 22, especially those with disabilities.

Qualifications:

A master’s degree in the area of education, special education, early childhood education, literacy, education administration or appropriate related field; three to five years of successful classroom teaching, school improvement planning, special education or related experience. Administrative experience preferred;

An Ohio Department of Education license appropriate to the individual’s profession (special education, general education, administration, intervention specialist, literacy, early learning, or related services);

Knowledge of and significant leadership experience in Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and in several of the following:

 

Data analysis, including data-based decision making and a thorough understanding of Ohio’s accountability system;

Evidence-based processes and instructional practices, including development and implementation of academic and behavior supports;

Early language and literacy development

Universal design for learning and differentiated instruction

Focused planning, including use of strategic problem solving;

Coaching and consultation skills; communication skills;

Organizational, planning and project management skills and ability to multitask;

Implementation and monitoring of improvement efforts;

Culturally responsive and equitable systems and practices;

Delivery of high quality professional learning and technical assistance;

School administration and leadership;

Early childhood education, preschool special education, early education preschool to Grade 3, or other early childhood settings such as Head Start or community based child care;

Special designed instruction and provision of free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment (special education) and/or

Parent, family and community engagement.

 

Salary and Benefits: commensurate with training and experience.

State Support Team Career Technical Consultant

Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Regions 11, 15 and 16 SST’s, the Career Technical Consultant facilitates school improvement/special education processes that build capacity of career technology administrators and instructional leaders to plan, implement and monitor data driven school improvement initiatives in the SST regions 11, 15 and 16, within the scope of work identified by the Ohio Department of Education, adhering to ODE processes and tools, Ross Pike ESD policies and procedures and Region 15 practices.

Qualifications: A master’s degree in career technology education, education, special education or closely related field; an Ohio Department of Education license appropriate to the individual’s profession

Knowledge of career and technical education systems and best practices in career technical educational programming

Knowledge of and significant leadership experience in Individuals with Disabilities Act and several of the following:

Post Secondary Transition;

Parent, family and community engagement;

Data analysis, including data-based decision making and a thorough understanding of Ohio’s accountability system;

Evidence-based processes and instructional practices, including development and implementation of academic and behavior supports;

Special designed instruction and provision of free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment; Universal design for learning and differentiated instruction;

Organizational, planning and project management skills, including the ability to multitask;

Focused planning, including use of strategic problem solving and implementation and monitoring of improvement efforts;
